One week ago, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis brought his vile agenda to our doors when he spoke in the Chicago suburb of Elmhurst. Traveling 1,000 miles from the state he's supposedly governing, just to spread hate in our community. Clearly, he is gearing up for a possible run for President and thinks his message of division and hate would play here.
The majority of the people of Illinois were having none of it. Protesters gathered in force, unified in their opposition to DeSantis and his despicable agenda.
Illinois is not the place for bigotry.
The concern is he did have an audience and support from the local GOP and extremists here in Illinois with the same beliefs, but none of the notoriety, who are on the ballot. We’ve been making use of our strong grassroots organization to get the word out and give their progressive opponents the support they need in the upcoming Consolidated General Elections, but we need your help.
