Hi,

My name is Eleni, and I’m a fellow animal advocate and supporter of The Humane League. It’s great to meet you over email!

Like you, I care deeply about animals. But to be honest, I hadn’t realized just how extreme the conditions were for animals raised in our food system—until my husband and I drove past a feedlot during a cross-country trip after our marriage. We were struck by the seemingly endless expanse of cows stuck in mud for miles. When we pulled over to see them, a few from the thousands followed us curiously. Seeing those gentle cows, confined and forgotten by most, made me understand just how critical it is to address the cruelty animals face every day on factory farms.

That’s why I’m personally inviting you to join me as a member of The Heart Beat: a community of individuals, like you and me, who are powering the transition away from animal cruelty in our food system.

Over and over, I’ve been impressed by The Humane League’s deep commitment to effectiveness. Through virtual town halls with THL’s leadership, I’ve seen firsthand how they pivot their approaches and test new strategies to make the biggest difference possible for animals. (As a member of The Heart Beat, you’ll be invited to those meetings, too—the next one is on March 16th. I hope to see you there!)

Above all, I believe systemic problems require systemic solutions. The fact that The Humane League is going straight to the source—targeting large corporations profiting off animal abuse—gives me so much confidence in their work. And it gives me hope for our shared future.

I’m so proud to be a member of The Heart Beat, and I hope you’ll consider joining as well. Will you help fuel this shift toward compassion?
