“A private plan prepared by Heritage Action last year set out a two-year, $24m ‘election integrity’ strategy.”

Since the 2020 election, Republican lawmakers have passed dozens of new voter suppression bills in nearly half of all states. Now, it’s becoming clear that this wave of legislation was no coincidence, but instead a deliberate, targeted strategy funded by far-right mega-donors.

Honestly, we shouldn’t be surprised that Heritage is so active in this effort. After all, we are talking about an organization whose founder openly stated: “I don’t want everybody to vote…Our leverage in the elections quite candidly goes up as the voting populace goes down.”
