She showed what the power of youth can do while also showing that you don’t need to have high status to directly affect change. ''

I’m from Hoover, Alabama which is minutes away from Birmingham, and we have a grotesque but powerful history memorialized by the Civil Rights Movement. Its legacy still impacts the people that live here today. Birmingham is a testament to perseverance. And I love the progress we continue to make as a city.”
