🌹 Tonight: Phonebank for Union Rights! 🌹
|
All workers deserve the right to unionize and bargain for a better workplace! But most public-sector workers in Georgia — teachers, nurses, university staff, and other government workers — aren’t legally allowed to collectively bargain or strike for a fair contract. We can't leave these essential workers behind!
Atlanta DSA is campaigning for Georgia State legislators to legalize public sector bargaining this legislative session and we need your help! We will be phonebanking every Monday through crossover day gathering petition signatures and encouraging folks to contact their House Reps. Join us at TONIGHT at 711 Catherine St. at 6 PM. Afterwards stick around for our monthly Workplace Roundtable!
|
Join us, IUPAT, GLAHR, and the Atlanta community this Thursday, March 2nd at 1545 Marietta Blvd NE to rally against immigrant worker exploitation by Specialty Finishes LLC. Help us fight for dignity, respect, and fairness on the job!
Email [email protected] for more information.

Atlanta DSA's Book Club explores a range of topics in socialist theory. In our biweekly meetings, we discuss big picture ideas about history, economics, and politics. We'll be meeting this Thursday, March 9th, 7pm – 8pm
We’re currently reading Chapter 4, “Building a New House" of Elite Capture by Olúfẹ́mi O. Táíwò. We encourage everyone to read ahead of time, but all are welcome to join the discussion!

📚 Emergency Workplace Organizer Training Series! 📚
|
Want to organize your workplace but don’t know where to start? How to talk to your coworkers? How to build a team of organizers out of your coworkers? How to build your campaign? What to do when the boss responds badly to your organizing?
Join us for the ninth series of the Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee’s Foundational Training Series, starting on Wednesday, March 8. In four sessions, you will learn the fundamental principles of effective shop-floor organizing live with workplace organizers and other workers.

🎸 Brewing Union Benefit Concert! 🎸
|
Creature Comforts brewing workers in Athens are building their new union, the Brewing Union of Georgia, from the ground up! The company has hired an aggressive, expensive union-busting law firm and we need your help to protect workers and win the campaign!
ALL workers at Creature Comforts and beyond deserve a living wage, paid time off, a democratic voice at work, and transparent policies about hiring, promotion, discipline, and diversity.
So Join Us for a fundraising concert Saturday, March 18th 7 PM - 10PM at No Tomorrow in Underground Atlanta for a night of Music and Camaraderie! Tickets are $15 and Free For Brewery Workers proceeds will go to help pay for legal costs and the occasional organizing costs of what could be a prolonged campaign. RSVP for the show here.
If you are feeling extra generous please consider contributing what you can by donating below. BUG needs your help to win this David vs. Goliath battle!
