We’re nearing the end of February, and I’m reaching out to ask for your help to hit our End-of-Month grassroots fundraising goal of $5,000. Below, I’m going to talk about the critical importance of the work we are doing at NCLEJ. But if you don’t have time to read my full message, you can click here to chip in whatever you can spare. Any amount, whether large or small, will go a long way towards supporting our organization.
NCLEJ is a group of lawyers, advocates, and professional staff united in the belief that all people in our country deserve to live with dignity. It is not enough to just survive – we want people to thrive, and that can only happen when everyone has equal access to food, water, housing, healthcare, and a basic income.
Our organization was founded in 1965 following the groundbreaking success of civil rights lawyers. For our more than 50 years of history, we’ve advanced the causes of social, racial, and economic justice through groundbreaking litigation, policy advocacy, and support for grassroots organizing efforts. Legal decisions can have enormous ramifications for hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people. It is no exaggeration to state that our work creates real, long-term progress for America’s most vulnerable communities.
I speak for everyone at NCLEJ when I say that we are incredibly proud of the work we do. But the truth is that we can’t do it all alone. Our litigation work requires serious commitment and funding – some cases can even take many years to achieve full resolution – which is why I am asking you to consider NCLEJ in your charitable contributions today.
By chipping in, you can help fight in the courts and on the ground to:
Expand access to critical benefits like food stamps, Medicaid, and unemployment insurance
Protect the rights, benefits, and safety of low-wage workers
Advance the rights of people with disabilities
Reform unjust law enforcement practices that harm communities of color
End unlawful debt collection
And so much more!
This year, we need to fight harder, speak louder, and act bolder to advance racial and economic justice for America’s marginalized communities. With your help, I know we can do it.
As a reminder, all contributions to our nonprofit organization are tax deductible.
Thank you for your continued support,
Dennis Parker
