The use of antibiotics in meat production is making life-saving drugs less
effective. But if McDonald's finally commits to removing antibiotics from
its supply chain, it will send shockwaves across the meat industry and
help protect millions of people. Add your name and share this widely.

John,

The use of antibiotics in meat production is making life-saving drugs less
effective. Our ability to fight off sepsis, urinary tract infections and
tuberculosis is increasingly at risk.

It’s scary to think what will happen if we don’t reverse course, but now
we have an opportunity that could force the industry to change.

Enter: McDonald's. If the world's largest fast food chain eliminates
antibiotics from its meat supply, it could revolutionize the industry and
help protect millions of people.

Already public pressure forced the company to address antibiotics in the
first place -- let’s keep piling on until it commits to removing
antibiotics for good. Add your name, and share this with at least one
friend — this will only work if we make this petition huge:

This isn’t hyperbole. In 2019, antibiotic-resistant bacteria directly
killed over 1.2 million people, including 35,000 Americans, and more than
3 million others died from diseases where antibiotic resistance played a
role.

It’s true that animals sometimes do need antibiotics to fight infection,
but the US meat industry is using these drugs as a preventative measure,
not to fight one-off infections.

The US Food and Drug Administration has shamefully refused to act on this
important issue, and the industry won’t change unless it is forced to.

If the #1 fast food giant ditches antibiotics in its meat, it could
inspire other chains to follow suit, and finally push the industry to
change its tune. Add your name and forward this to friends and family — as
soon as our call is big enough to make a difference, we will launch an
advocacy and media blitz on the company:
