Oregon Lawmaker Fights For Primates In Wake Of FDA Modernization Act
It sounds like a horror movie, but it is all too real. The accidental and bizarre deaths of two monkeys at a primate research lab tied to a large hospital highlight cruelties in using live animals for research. Large Sums Secured For Horse Protection Act And Alternatives To Animal Testing
Animal Wellness Action has secured record-level funding to enforce the Horse Protection Act and an FDA-wide New Alternative Methods Program to reduce animal testing. Drone Footage Of Animal Fighting Exposes States With Weak Laws, Highlights Health Risks
Criminals involved in animal fighting are no doubt feeling nervous since Animal Wellness Action has teamed up with Showing Animals Respect and Kindness (SHARK) to launch drone footage of cockfighting ring operations in several states. We are also exposing dangerous health risks associated with these operations that ship masses of birds, likely spreading zoonotic disease. Read more. [[link removed]]

We won a crucial battle for big cats with the Big Cat Public Safety Act signed into law by President Biden, but our work continues to bring on the structured and energetic enforcement that will sufficiently end cub-petting operations and roadside zoos that exploit our wild felines.
