The council is co-ordinating a campaign to encourage more people to become homecare workers to provide much needed support to vulnerable residents in our communities.
Local homecare providers have jobs in homecare available now, with full pay, flexible hours and training and opportunities for people to progress their career within the sector. ?The recruitment drive is essential to the city?s efforts to support people to stay living independently in their own homes ? especially those who are elderly and vulnerable. This is also important in helping the NHS to discharge patients back to their homes.
For all job roles recruited to:
- You will be fully paid
- You will be trained ? no previous experience is necessary, just a desire? to care for others
- Your DBS safeguarding check will be paid for
- We will support you through your application
- You will be designated ?key worker? status
- You will be provided with full Personal Protective Equipment, such as? gloves and aprons

We are interested in exploring options for bringing activities to the revitalised streets around the Broad Marsh area and create a new destination to attract visitors.
We?ve made fantastic progress on our plans to completely change the look and feel of this part of the city. Streets that were once filled with traffic are now pleasant places to be, students are enjoying the new college, and the new bus station and car park are up and running in a modern building where the new central library will open later this year.
Work on the Green Heart and Collin Street improvements will also get underway this year ? but we know that it will be some years before the vision for the whole site will be fully realised. Rather than wait, we are keen to start to find ways to animate the area, make it a destination in its own right and give people reasons to linger and enjoy it rather than simply passing through.
We want to hear from organisations with ideas for what could help to animate the area, for an initial period of up to five years, with a view to becoming part of the Broad Marsh experience long-term. This could involve independent traders, food and drink outlets, entertainment including seasonal events and opportunities for local producers, suppliers and artists to showcase themselves.
Any interested parties have until Friday 10 March to get involved with the ideas-gathering exercise here: https://procontract.due-north.com/Advert?advertId=bbc3c48d-b5ab-ed11-811f-005056b64545

Did you know, the City Council is only responsible for 3% of Nottingham?s carbon emissions? We need local organisations to support us to reach our goal of being the first city in the UK to be carbon neutral by 2028. Getting started making your organisation more sustainable can seem tricky, so our Carbon Neutral Policy Team are running a webinar series to share the steps you need to take to get going.??
The first webinar in the series is tomorrow (28th February) and will set out the context of what carbon neutral means for local organisations. The team will be joined by Cllr Sally Longford, and attendees will find out the progress made to date on reducing carbon emissions in the city. You will also learn the top actions your organisation can take to become more sustainable and where to find further information and support.?
