Hi Friend,
16-year-old Sofia* has spent half of her life surrounded by war — but last February, things got so much worse.
“I woke up from the strongest explosion,” she remembers. “The birds flew away, and that was it. Silence. I thought it was the end of the world.”
Like 17.4 million others across Ukraine, Sofia was forced to flee. Not long after, her home was reduced to rubble.
Every moment since, she’s dreamt of finding her mother, who’s been missing for months. “I just want my mom. When I try to reach her, all I hear is dial tones.”
Friend, please — will you speak out against this senseless violence?
In Ukraine, an average of four children are killed or injured every single day. That’s four lives forever changed by trauma — or four futures snuffed out entirely.
Those that survive mourn their loved ones, homes and schools. According to the Ukraine Ministry of Education and Science (MOES), over 2,600 schools have been damaged by shelling or bombs, and 406 have been destroyed beyond repair.
Send a message to the White House and Congress: We have to investigate child rights violations in Ukraine — and hold those responsible to account.
