On the campaign trail, nearly every candidate made the same promise (shocking, we know). They all promised to fight inflation, provide tax relief, and help Michiganders keep their hard-earned money in their pockets.

Michigan Democrats followed through on their promises and passed a tax relief bill that will help seniors and working families. The bill also includes $180 inflation relief checks.

Every single Republican voted no on the bill.

Meanwhile, Republicans in Washington D.C. proposed their “Fair” Tax Act to cut taxes for the wealthy and slap Americans with a 30% national sales tax on rent, doctor’s visits, gas, groceries, and nearly every good and service.

It’s clear that Republicans are in office to cut tax breaks for the wealthy and play political games with the future of our nation.
