GOP Needs to Pick a Side on Border Security |
Promises: For the past two years, Republicans talked tough about the border. Chip Roy, R-Texas—that would deny illegal border crossers access to the U.S. until their asylum claims are adjudicated.
- Rep. Anthony Gonzales, Don Bacon, and Maria Salazar even called it “not Christian” and “anti-American,” and blocked it from receiving a vote in the House.
- Heritage visiting fellows Mark Morgan and Tom Homan say that the House needs to act now to secure the border and reduce illegal immigration, or “finally and irrevocably destroy any remaining credibility the GOP has on securing the border.” You can read their scathing op-ed here.
Meanwhile, Heritage is calling for lawmakers to impeach Mayorkas. Read the case for his impeachment here.
