How Blackstone changed Angie’s life

That summer, Angie attended the Blackstone Legal Fellowship.

“It felt like home,” she says. “When I went back to law school, I was equipped and confident.”

Blackstone brings together exceptional Christian law students and prepares them for careers marked by integrity and excellence.

Since Blackstone was launched 20 years ago, it has grown exponentially. Today, nearly 2,300 law students have benefitted from the generosity of people like you, John.

Many students who attend the training program describe their pre-Blackstone education experience as similar to Angie’s. They feel alone, outnumbered, and overwhelmed.

But time after time, these students graduate Blackstone feeling reenergized in their passions and fully equipped to carry on the mission God called them to.

For Angie, Blackstone gave her the confidence to make her pro-life dreams a reality.

After law school, she began working for Woman’s New Life Clinic (WNLC). WNLC offers counseling and a variety of other services to women wondering how they will get through an unplanned pregnancy and women who are struggling with a past abortion.

It’s been inspiring for Angie to see God’s hand on WNLC and the work she is so passionate about.

Time and time again, the Lord has delivered for WNLC, including when Angie found out that Planned Parenthood was building a huge facility in New Orleans. A local family sold the tiny sliver of available land next to the abortion giant to WNLC, which built a new office there. WNLC now has four offices located beside abortion facilities.

“Our real estate agent is the Holy Spirit,” Angie quips.

Working next to Planned Parenthood isn’t always easy, but Angie and her colleagues know it is where they are most needed.

”We don’t see the people next door as our enemy,” she says. They pray for Planned Parenthood’s staff, along with the women who seek their services, each day.

“Working in the pro-life movement has been the most joyful and the most challenging experience,” Angie says. “My path has not been a traditional Blackstone path, but I’ve used every bit of the gift of what Blackstone was in the service of the unborn.”
