And then, this past week, Jennifer McClellan won a big victory for a U.S. House seat in which she exceeded President Biden's 2020 margin by double digits.
I won't lie: it feels really satisfying (and encouraging!) to see voters embarrass the Virginia Republican Party after they've spent the last few months using reproductive rights and LGBTQ+ equality as political footballs.
But as I type this, Republican groups are preparing massive spending sprees to slow the recent surge of Democratic momentum in the Commonwealth. Every campaign on the ballot in 2023 needs to be ready for barrages of attack ads — and at any moment.
