In the 118th Congress, I remain laser focused on delivering real results for New Jersey. To that end, I want to make sure you heard from me about the Jersey STRONG agenda I am fighting for in Congress this year.
Saving the SALT Deduction:
Lifting the cap on your ability to deduct your state and local taxes (SALT) has been a top priority for me ever since I was elected to Congress. That’s why the first bill I introduced this term was the Middle-Class Tax Relief Act, which will provide significant relief from the unfair double taxation on New Jersey families.
Taking Care of Our Vets:
The number one issue I hear about from veterans across our district is the need for another Vet Center in North Jersey. That’s why I introduced bipartisan legislation that would expand access to mental health counseling for veterans across the country, including northern New Jersey, by expanding the number of Vet Centers that offer this critical care.
Reining in Auto Thefts:
New Jersey has seen an unsettling rise in car thefts. To address this problem, I worked closely with NJ-11 police chiefs and mayors to craft the bipartisan Auto Theft Prevention Act, which will provide state and local law enforcement agencies with federal grant funding to help them combat auto thefts.
Optimizing Women's Health Care:
Heart disease is the leading causes of death for women, yet its prevalence and presentation of symptoms are often overlooked or misunderstood in our medical system. I introduced the Heart Health Enhancement through Access to Research and Training (HEART) Act to establish grants to provide medical providers with resources to better address this issue and achieve better health outcomes for women experiencing heart disease.
Nominating More Labor Representatives:
Unions built the middle class and are crucial voices when decisions are being made about the future of work in our state and country. That’s why I reintroduced the Expanding Labor Representation in the Workforce System Act to expand the level of labor union participation on state and local workforce boards, which allocate crucial workforce development and job training funds.
