Now that we have crushed the Allegheny County Special Elections, it is time to start looking ahead to the Municipal/Local/Judicial primary election this May, John.

Primary elections are crucial battlegrounds for true leadership and representation in our society. Choosing the right candidates in the primaries keeps the general election from turning into a choice of the lesser of two evils.

But in an “off-year,” the typically low turnout for primaries only gets worse. To make sure our Commonwealth’s youth, immigrants, Black, Indigenous, and other people of color have the support to make their voices heard in our primaries, we need to make sure we hit each and every fundraising goal we set.

Democracy works best when everyone participates, John. We have a lot of places to go and many people to reach before May 16th. Can we count on you to pitch in $10 right now to help us close the gap to our $2,500 end-of-month goal?

The New Pennsylvania Project was founded in May 2021 to expand Pennsylvania’s electorate, so it reflects the Commonwealth’s demographically changing population. In the next four years, NPP will engage and empower young residents and those living in underrepresented immigrant communities and communities of color. We register communities to vote, provide civic education about the issues that matter in their neighborhoods, and mobilize Pennsylvanians to vote in every election.
