Three States, Four Town Halls, Thousands of Voters, Too Many Haters to Pay Attention to
CHARLESTON, S.C. – Following Nikki Haley’s presidential campaign launch in Charleston, Nikki Haley hit the road and held four town halls in New Hampshire and Iowa.
Nikki met voters in their communities, heard their concerns, and promised them she’ll give 1000% in this race. In her words, “I’m just getting started.”
SOUTH CAROLINA |
The Hill: “Haley had a near-flawless rollout to her campaign this week, announcing her candidacy with a slick video, holding her first event at a well-attended rally in her native South Carolina the next day and bathing in media attention.” (Ranking the GOP’s top 10 presidential candidates, 2/18/23)
Susan B. Anthony List: “Nikki Haley’s strong pro-life, pro-woman leadership stands in contrast to the false ‘feminism’ of abortion advocates. We welcome Nikki Haley and all presidential contenders outlining their pro-life vision and policy platform in the new Dobbs era.” (Twitter, 2/14/23)
Breitbart: “Thousands of people gathered in downtown Charleston on Wednesday morning as former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley formally entered the fray of the 2024 GOP presidential primary with a call for a ‘new generation’ of GOP leaders in a speech here…The impressive crowd would suggest she maybe has a point when in her speech the former governor bashed those who underestimate her.” (Thousands Gather in Charleston for Nikki Haley Presidential Launch, 2/15/23)
NEW HAMPSHIRE
|
Nikki Haley hosted two packed town halls in Exeter and Manchester. She was introduced by Gen. Don Bolduc who gave Haley his official endorsement. Haley took questions from the attendants and mingled with the crowd. She even signed a Clemson Tigers yarmulke.
SeaCoastOnline’s Ian Lenahan: “Not a single seat was empty inside the iconic old Town Hall as Haley took the stage, a large American flag hung high behind sign-bearing supporters seated onstage.” (Nikki Haley packs Exeter Town Hall, 2/16/23)
New Hampshire radio host Jack Heath: “She’s taking New Hampshire by storm.” (Good Morning NH, 2/17/23)
Washington Post’s Dylan Wells: “@NikkiHaley is swarmed for photos and autographs after her first event as a presidential candidate here in New Hampshire:” (Twitter, 2/16/23)
New Hampshire Journal’s Michael Graham: “Nikki Haley’s message to a standing-room-only crowd at Exeter Town Hall Thursday Night was simple: If Republicans want to start winning again, they need to ‘focus on new generational leadership.’ ‘And the best way to do that,’ Haley added, ‘is to put a badass woman in the White House.’” (‘Badass Woman’ Haley Draws Big Crowd in Exeter for NH Kick-Off”, 2/16/23)
Nikki Haley wrote an op-ed in the New Hampshire Union Leader: “The incredible turnout and excitement I saw at my town halls confirmed to me that we’re ready for a new generation to lead. And I know in my heart that New Hampshire will help bring back the strong and proud America that people like Ed deserve.” (I’m running for Americans like Ed, 2/22/23)
IOWA
|
Following New Hampshire, Haley traveled to Iowa where she held two more town halls in Marion and Urbandale, with over 400 attendees. Iowans learned an important lesson from Gov. Kim Reynolds who said it would be a “big mistake” to underestimate Nikki Haley.
The Des Moines Register’s Brianne Pfannenstiel: “Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds just introduced Nikki Haley at her first Iowa event of her presidential campaign. She praised Haley’s 'tenacity' and said the biggest mistake someone could make is underestimating her. It’s a full house — maybe 300 people here in Urbandale.” (Twitter, 2/20/23)
Iowa Capital Dispatch’s Robin Opsahl: “‘She has a servant’s heart, I can tell you without hesitation,’ Reynolds said. ‘And I’ll tell you, one mistake that most people make when challenging this lady right here is underestimating her.’” (GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley calls for ‘school choice’ programs nationwide, 2/21/23)
Rep. Ashley Hinson: “Great to catch up with @NikkiHaley and welcome her to Marion! There’s nothing that terrifies Democrats more than strong, conservative women - she’s going to keep running circles around them!” (Twitter, 2/21/23)
|
State Rep. Austin Harris: “Nikki Haley is the leader we need in the White House.” (Twitter, 2/20/23)
Gov. Kim Reynolds: “Iowa is ready to be FIRST! So proud to introduce my friend @NikkiHaley tonight in Urbandale to kick off the Iowa Caucuses!” (Twitter, 2/20/23)
