JOhn, we send representatives to Congress to represent the interests of the people. But that's hard to make a reality when so many avenues remain open that allow for members to use their positions for personal financial gain.
One such area is stock trading. With members of Congress involved in decisions that can affect the entire U.S. economy, allowing them to trade stocks opens the door for major conflicts of interest.
Will you join me and add your name to help us ban members of Congress from trading stocks? We need to show those who want to keep gaming the system that we're not backing down.

Last year, the special interests got their way and blocked a Congressional stock trading ban. But I can tell you that one defeat doesn't have to be the end of the story.
We were counted out so many times before we finally passed legislation that lowered prescription drug prices — over the massive and pricey opposition of Big Pharma. And just as we overcame the special interests then, we must do it again here.
There's a renewed effort in the House right now to ban members from stock trading. It has bipartisan support, and if we keep the call to action alive, it has a chance of becoming law.
Honesty and transparency in government are essential in a functioning democracy, and that's why I'm proud to take on the special interests. But I need supporters like you behind me.
If you agree that those in Congress shouldn't be able to trade stocks, add your name today. If we can reach 5,000 signatures by the end of this weekend, we'll send a powerful message.
