In a post-Roe world, Republican AGs are using every chance they get to attack abortion access — this time it could affect reproductive rights nationwide. 22 GOP AGs are continuing their war on abortion access and backing the Texas lawsuit that could ban the medication abortion mifepristone nationwide.
Bottom line: mifepristone is safe, effective, and has had FDA approval for two decades. Democratic AGs know how important it is to keep medication abortion legal and accessible for the reproductive health care of millions of Americans across the country — and they’re fighting back. A coalition of 23 Dem AGs have urged major retailers like CVS and Walgreens to ignore the threats from their Republican counterparts and make medication abortion as broadly accessible as possible. This is an addition to the amicus brief they’ve filed in the Texas lawsuit in support of mifepristone staying on the market.
