Folks — We've got a lot to celebrate.
In the last six months alone, we’ve created 100,000 new jobs! That sounds pretty good, right? Well here’s the sweetener:
It’s 100,000 new clean energy jobs.

That’s what we helped create by passing the Inflation Reduction Act, the largest climate investment in history.
And thanks to our work passing the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and other critical legislation last year, we secured some huge investments that will make a real difference in the lives of Coloradans. Let me walk you through just a few of them:
- Over the last few years, Colorado has experienced the most damaging and dangerous wildfires on record. So we urged the US Forest Service to move quickly and direct funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to Colorado — and they did, to the tune of $37 million! That’s going to make a huge difference in keeping our forests healthy and preventing future wildfires.
- For years, dangerous contaminants like PFAS have emerged in our drinking water, particularly in rural communities. Through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, we secured $86 million in funding from the Environmental Protection Agency to help eliminate these substances and ensure that Colorado’s drinking water is safe and clean.
- Thanks to our Colorado River Basin Conservation Act, we’ve secured up to $125 million for programs to help combat the drought crisis on the Colorado River. This critical funding will empower us and our neighboring states in the West to continue making creative solutions to conserve our region’s water supply.
Folks, we’re making a real difference in tackling the climate crisis all while creating good-paying jobs. But we can’t stop now. There’s still so much work to be done in order to future-proof our climate for generations to come.
