Running for Senate wasn’t the obvious path for me. I’m not a politician, I have two little kids, and look, most of what happens in Washington really makes me mad. So I want to tell you a little more about why I decided to get into this race (If you’re with me already, you can make a donation here).

Senator John Cornyn is an entrenched incumbent who’s spent nearly two decades in Washington serving special interests and DC bosses like Mitch McConnell. Now, thanks in part to Big Pharma, the gun lobby, and the private prison industry, he has a nearly $11 million war chest -- and outside special interests are spending even more on his behalf.

After 18 years, I don’t expect Sen. Cornyn to start putting Texas first anytime soon. That’s why I had to get into this race. Will you pitch in now to help us win the upcoming Texas primary and take on Sen. Cornyn from the strongest position possible?

In the last few years alone, Sen. Cornyn:

• Voted to rip health care away from millions of Texans.
• Voted against a bill that would’ve lowered prescription drug prices.
• And refused to support any meaningful action on gun violence, even after horrific mass shootings in our own state.

I intend to do things differently. I will fight for you tooth and nail every single day. My votes will always be based on what’s best for Texans and NEVER who’s writing the biggest campaign checks. As the only political outsider in the race and a working mom who has personally faced the struggles working Texans deal with every day, you can be sure of that.
