Families like Doreen’s are facing severe hunger.

Dear Friend,

This is an emergency.

Doreen from Uganda should be preparing to plant crops and seeds before the rains are due to come, but instead her family is facing crisis after crisis. 

The triple crisis of the Covid-19 pandemic, skyrocketing prices of basic goods, and the worsening climate crisis are putting the lives of the farming families we work alongside in jeopardy. The culmination of these crises means families in East Africa are facing the worst hunger emergency of a generation. 

That's why we're sharing this vital emergency appeal with you today, so families like Doreen's won't have to go hungry.

We made a promise to farming families like Doreen's, that we would support them to fight hunger, and poverty. We need to reach the 92,000 people we promised training and support to this year. And with your help today, we can be there for families like Doreen's. 

When I met with Doreen in February, she told me how the triple crisis has had a devastating impact on her family and farm. Today, Doreen's family eats just one small meal a day.

“We used to have at least 2 meals a day, but sometimes we survive only on porridge. My grandchildren are starving.”
