JOhn, today marks one year since Vladimir Putin's unprovoked and barbaric invasion of Ukraine.
In the last 12 months, the Ukrainian people have shown unbelievable courage and tenacity. They have weathered tragedy and hardship that I cannot even begin to imagine. One year since Putin started this war, one thing remains clear: we must continue to support the Ukrainian people and stand strong for freedom and self-determination in the face of a tyrant.
There have been many moments that tested our resolve in the past year. Through it all, I applaud President Biden for helping to maintain a powerful international alliance that has isolated Russia. And I am glad that Congress managed to consistently provide Ukraine with aid and resources.
But as the war winds on, and misinformation and propaganda may seep into certain information channels, we cannot waver. I promise you that I will continue to use my voice in Congress for the safety and security of the Ukrainian people — whether in their home country or as refugees. Their strength is our strength, and we must never forget that.
Thank you,
Jennifer
