The landmark Roe v. Wade decision was handed down 47 years ago today.

Here in South Texas, access to reproductive health services means going into Mexico. We believe reproductive freedom is a right -- and protecting and expanding this fundamental freedom is more urgent now than ever.

Meanwhile, however, Henry Cuellar’s record shows clear and consistent opposition to our constitutional right to reproductive freedom.

Here’s a quick look at his record:

• Voted for a national 20-week abortion ban (even for survivors of rape and incest)
• Voted to defund Planned Parenthood
• Withheld support of the Affordable Care Act until abortion restrictions were added
• Voted to restrict access to contraception

Under Donald Trump and this Supreme Court, Roe is more at risk than ever. That’s why it’s so important that we elect leaders who will protect reproductive freedom for all. Henry Cuellar has made it clear he will not.
