New Orleans DSA - Weekly Update

Hey all —

We hope y'all are rested up from Mardi Gras! Come join us for a brief but lively General Meeting tomorrow at 12pm noon.

This hybrid meeting will be held at the First Unitarian Universalist Church at 2903 Jefferson Avenue. (Enter through the side door on Soniat Street.) Please wear a mask and as always, feel free to bring a friend!

If you're joining us online via zoom, you can register here! Can't make it at all? Email us ([email protected]) and ask for a proxy.

We'll be running down our upcoming chapter events and actions, including our next Brake Light Clinic on March 4th. Our Red Talk will focus on the "ins-n-outs" of DSA's National Convention, coming up this year in August in Chicago. Hear from former local delegates about what it's like to serve as a chapter delegate, what's at stake, the debates of the day, and meeting socialists from around the country. Running as a delegate is the perfect opportunity to dip your toes into national DSA and serving in elected roles for the chapter (not to mention, it's a lot of fun!), so if you're interested, you won't want to miss it!

See you tomorrow!

New to DSA? Check out our chapter's new member resources here. If you've got any questions about how to get involved or the work our chapter is doing, give us a shout at [email protected].

Not yet a member? The most important tool that the working class has is organization. We're strong when we fight together. We have to build a durable, mass political organization to wield the kind of power we need to win real change in our society. If you aren't a dues-paying member of DSA yet, join today!
