Take Down Tobacco

John,

Meet Ify Chidi! [[link removed]]

Ify is a college freshman in Ohio – originally from the Bay Area in California – who's been involved in public health advocacy from a young age.

She has educated classmates and teachers about tobacco issues and organized activities for a tobacco prevention club that she started with a few of her closest friends.

Ify’s on a mission to make positive change in her community and beyond, and she’s prepared to boldly stand up for what she believes in. As a Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids National Youth Ambassador, Ify is expanding her tobacco prevention work and fighting for health justice for marginalized communities.

"It’s very important to recognize how the tobacco industry is targeting people of color. I’m really passionate about that!"

Our National Youth Ambassadors are high school students who have demonstrated leadership in fighting tobacco in their communities. These advocates are chosen annually as representatives of their state through a competitive application process. They receive training and participate in activities throughout the year. This profile series showcases their incredible work!

Look out for a new profile every other week.
