This past Tuesday, February 21st, pro-choice voters like you turned out to vote in Virginia and Wisconsin – and together, we achieved decisive victories for reproductive rights!

[1.] In Virginia’s special congressional election, Democrat Jennifer McClellan defeated an anti-abortion Republican – receiving nearly 85% of the vote – and became the first Black woman to ever represent Virginia in Congress!

This is an important victory for abortion rights nationwide – as far-right, anti-choice Republicans are racing to pass abortion restrictions in the House, pro-choice voters are showing up to chip away at their majority and protect our reproductive freedoms.

[2.] In Wisconsin’s state Supreme Court primary, pro-choice Judge Janet Protasiewicz advanced to the general election after receiving the most votes of all four candidates!

This election will be make-or-break for abortion access in Wisconsin. Extremist Republicans in Wisconsin’s state legislature are fighting to uphold an 1849 abortion ban with no exceptions for rape or incest – and the decision on whether or not to uphold this outdated law will come down to the state’s Supreme Court.

Now, we have one more fight ahead of us – Wisconsin’s general election for the state Supreme Court on April 4th.
