From managing local transit agencies to heading the U.S. Department of Transportation, African-American transit leaders have played an invaluable role in increasing mobility, improving access, and strengthening America’s public transit systems. In doing so, they have also helped drive equity in communities of all sizes across the country. During Black History Month, and all year-long, we salute their hard work and pay tribute to their many accomplishments.
