John,
It’s only Wednesday and it’s already been a big week for the Convention of States movement.
On Monday, I traveled to West Virginia to rally with our grassroots supporters at their state capitol. Since their legislative session ends at the beginning of March, getting movement early on in the year is important.
We made tremendous progress this week, as our volunteers conducted valuable face-to-face meetings with their legislators, providing them with educational materials on COS and Article V.
We expect our resolution will be filed there any day now.
In Virginia, our supporters rallied with fellow Second Amendment supporters at the capitol to march in defense of the Constitution.
There’s no better example of the power of self-governing citizens than the battle that’s unfolding in Virginia. Citizens are speaking up and showing up in an incredible way to defend their rights.
On Tuesday, our General Counsel, Robert Kelly, joined with COS volunteers in Colorado for a rally day at the capitol.
This proved a powerful dynamic, as constituents met with their state legislators to show them the importance of the issue in their district, and Robert Kelly followed up to answer any questions from a legal and historical perspective.
This type of grassroots activity is an essential part of our victory strategy and gives us a clear picture of where each legislator stands on the issue.
But as an organization that’s 100% funded by the American people, our work wouldn’t be possible without your support.
Will you help refill our 2020 Victory Fund by contributing whatever you can today? As of today, we’re $15,000 short of reaching our goal to fund our legislative fight in January.
