Dear John,
I just wanted to start out by saying that I hope you have all been able to stay safe and warm and didn’t have to spend too much time outside shoveling and plowing snow over these past few days. I know I made quite a few trips outside with Cheryl to take care of our driveway – and I can’t say that was the highlight of my district work week!
On the legislative front, I wanted to share an exciting update with you all. Today, as part of my efforts to reform Washington – I officially reintroduced my NO STOCK Resolution.
This legislation would require every sitting member of the U.S. House of Representatives to immediately sell their individual stocks and refrain from future stock ownership while in office.
It’s just simple: Members of Congress should be focused on serving their constituents, not playing the stock market – and this legislation would help get that done.
I’ll keep working to get this bill over the finish line and will continue looking for ways to reform Washington – because you deserve to know that your elected officials will always put your needs first.
Here's what else I've been up to this week:
Joining Members of SEIU Local 284 in Hastings on the Picket Line
The food service workers at our local schools show up every day – ready to work hard and ensure our children are fed. Last Friday, I was proud to join members of SEIU Local 284 as they called for higher wages and equitable working conditions.
Working to Address the Fentanyl Crisis
Too many Minnesota communities and families have been impacted by the fentanyl crisis. On Monday, I joined families at the Minnesota State Capitol at the Faces of Fentanyl Exhibit to hear their stories and continue the work of addressing this American crisis.
Attending Eagan High School’s Robotics Competition
Last Saturday, I was able to stop by Eagan High School’s impressive robotics competition. I’m so proud to represent such amazing students across #MN02!
Behind the scenes with Rep. Craig:
Well, we finally got our winter blizzard this week – and it wouldn’t be a true Minnesota storm without at least 3 trips outside to plow and shovel! My wife Cheryl is very good at this – but I really do help when I’m not in DC!
One final note – I will be holding my 50th town hall on Monday night at 6:15 pm – and would love to hear from you all! You can join by dialing (833) 364-1471 or by registering at https://craig.house.gov/live.
That’s it for my update this week. I hope you and your family stay safe! We are going to be above freezing here by Sunday! Enjoy!
Until next time,
Angie Craig
Member of Congress
