A recent analysis from Pew Research Center found that only 23 out of the 50 states have EVER elected a Black woman to Congress. What’s more, there are currently ZERO Black women serving in the United States Senate. Throughout our nation’s history, only two have ever been elected — Carol Moseley Braun and Kamala Harris. 

It’s a disgrace. Our government will never work for us until it looks like us. Until all our voices have a seat at the table, until all our voices are being heard, our work is far from finished.
