We hope you’re enjoying your Friday as we head into the weekend! This was a busy week across the district, including the harsh storm that swept in Tuesday. We are wishing your families well as so many continue to recover from the destruction it left.

Sunday was the Day of Remembrance for our nation’s unjust internment of Japanese Americans. It is a shameful and painful part of American history that reminds us of the great depth of AAPI discrimination in our nation’s story. We must move forward to combat hate from a place of understanding.

Congressman Kim Hosts Town Hall in Lawrence

Last night, Congressman Kim hosted his 60th town hall at the Boys and Girls Club of Mercer County. Congressman Kim honored Black History Month, spoke about the new district office openings set to occur in Hamilton and Freehold, his continued work to combat food insecurity, and supporting the safety and success of youth in our community.

This was our first town hall in Mercer County after the 2020 census redistricting in January of this year. We’re excited for all the town halls to come and to hear directly from our neighbors across Burlington, Monmouth, and Mercer Counties.

Congressman Kim Emphasizes his Commitment to Supporting Local Black-Owned Businesses

On Wednesday, Congressman Kim visited Curate Noir and Glassy Brown Cookies in Moorestown Mall! Two Black-owned and local gems, the Congressman and the business owners discussed how to help their businesses thrive, including continuing to strengthen supply chains, expanding access to federal resources, and the importance of location for a business’s success.

Black-owned businesses are a gift to our community and scattered across the district. Black History Month reminds us of the historic barriers put on business owners of color and how important it is to keep pushing for them to have equitable access to capital, resources, and federal support.

Tornado and Storm Recovery

After Tuesday’s rare storm and the destruction it left, we are incredibly grateful for the Lawrence Township Police Department, Red Cross, and other volunteers who are helping those who were displaced and with clean-up. Congressman Kim went to Lawrence Township yesterday to get updates on the damage and recovery efforts.

Kicking off the Service Academy Nomination Process with an Info Day!

This past weekend, our office co-hosted Service Academy Info Day with Reverend Floyd White in Mount Laurel to introduce high schoolers and prospective service academy nominees to the different service academies.

Celebrating the Congressional App Challenge

Congressman Kim gathered local participants of the 2022 Congressional App Challenge to celebrate their hard work and our winners. All of these incredibly talented students created innovative apps and it was a pleasure to hear them speak more about their projects.

On March 14th in Mount Laurel, Congressman Kim and the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness are hosting a security and resource training for faith leaders to help prioritize the safety of our community.

Two New Office Locations Opening Soon Across New Jersey’s 3rd District!

We are excited to open two new offices soon in Mercer and Monmouth Counties! We look forward to opening our doors in Hamilton Township and Freehold to continue helping address your issues with federal agencies.
