John, I've been doing some reflecting today on the experiences that have shaped my fights in the Senate, so I wanted to send a quick note before I head into my next meeting in a few minutes.
I've been reflecting on where my story began: in a working-class family that taught me the values of hard work, determination, and persistence.
I've been reflecting on how I became the first in my family to graduate from college – working as a waitress and taking out student loans to cover the cost.
And I've been reflecting on how I learned firsthand about inequality in the workplace as a young computer programmer in a male-dominated field.
These experiences and more are the reasons why I fight so hard to end pay discrimination, expand access to affordable health care and education, and establish paid family leave for all. They're also why I fight so hard against GOP tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy and cuts to Social Security and Medicare.
But here's the problem, John: Democrats are clinging to a razor-thin majority in the Senate – and experts at The Washington Post say that I'm one of the most vulnerable senators on the ballot. I simply cannot win reelection and continue this fight without your critical grassroots support.
So please, will you chip in $5 or more right now to help me defend this seat and our Democratic Senate majority? Every dollar could mean the difference between winning and losing.
Thank you for being by my side – I'm so grateful.
Jacky Rosen
