Friend,
Just when you thought the corporate media couldn’t get any worse, they
sink to an all-new low.
Major publications, including BuzzFeed, Men’s Journal, and CNET, have
publicly admitted to using artificial intelligence chatbots to write
stories.
If you think this is crazy, you’re not alone. But it’s not hard to
guess why corporate media executives love it.
Their goal is to get the most clicks and the highest ratings—and
therefore sell the most advertising—at the lowest cost. If they can
eliminate the cost of paying actual human journalists, then they can
make more money than ever.
Friend, democracy simply cannot survive without independent
journalism produced by real human reporters, not chatbots. And Common
Dreams cannot survive without you.
We have less than a week to reach our mission-critical Winter Campaign
goal of $80,000 and 200 new monthly donors by March 1. Will you help
meet these goals by donating $5 a month to Common Dreams?
So we’re asking, with increased urgency as this must-reach fundraising
deadline approaches:
Yes, I'll donate $5 a month.

No, but I'll make a one-time donation
