Here’s how you can help recovery efforts →

“One year later, Kyiv stands. And Ukraine stands. Democracy stands.” — President Biden

John, today marks one year since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

This week, the U.S. formally declared that Russia has committed crimes against humanity. In a historic visit to Kyiv, President Biden reaffirmed our solidarity with Ukraine’s fight for democracy.

I am working with my colleagues in the Senate to support Ukraine, but there is more we can do.

World Central Kitchen (WCK), a non-profit led by Chef José Andrés, has been on the ground since this crisis began, providing meals and nourishment for people evacuating the war zones. Now, as more Ukrainians begin to return home, WCK is focused on providing thousands of fresh meals and meal kits for hundreds of communities across Ukraine.

Donate $5 or whatever you can to help World Central Kitchen provide meals in Ukraine.

More than eight million Ukrainians have fled their homes in the past year. The World Central Kitchen has been committed to feeding those entering surrounding countries. Now, WCK’s Chefs for Ukraine initiative is helping communities recover by serving meals in liberated areas across the country.

The Ukrainian people have shown tremendous courage and determination in this difficult time. Let’s continue to stand with them, help them recover, and ensure families are nourished and fed.

Last year, this team raised nearly $13,000 for World Central Kitchen’s work in Ukraine. I know we can do it again to support their ongoing recovery efforts. Contribute $5 now.

My best,

Dick Durbin
