Dear Neighbor,
Vietnam veterans and their families made significant sacrifices to serve our country. In advance of National Vietnam Veterans Day, our office is hosting a Vietnam Veteran Recognition Ceremony and Outreach Event to honor local veterans and provide information about services and benefits available, including expanded benefits provided under the recently approved Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson Honoring Our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act.
On Monday March 20, 2023, at 1:30PM, Congressman Higgins, working in coordination with Town of Wheatfield Supervisor Don MacSwan, will honor Vietnam-era veterans and surviving spouses living in NY-26 during a ceremony presenting Vietnam War 50th Anniversary Commemorative Pins at the Wheatfield Community Center.
To receive a pin, attendees must RSVP online or by calling our office (716) 852-3501.
Location:
Town of Wheatfield Community Center
2790 Church Road
North Tonawanda, NY 14120
Our staff and other local agencies will also be at Wheatfield Community Center on March 20th after the ceremony from 2:30-3:30PM to answer questions and connect veterans with services and benefits. Niagara County Veterans Service Agency, NYS Division of Veterans’ Services, the VA Western New York Healthcare System, the Wheatfield Veterans Memorial Committee, Military Order of the Purple Heart, and other organizations have already confirmed.
