African American Readings of St. Paul

We’ll investigate how African Americans throughout history have utilized the Apostle Paul and his letters to protest and resist oppression, examining the works of Black authors as far back as the 18th century. We’ll read sermons, enslaved petitions, and autobiographies of abolitionists and the formerly enslaved. How can scripture speak to us in liberative ways today? Come for powerful conversations and stimulating teaching.
