Council on Climate Solutions to meet Feb. 28, discuss state budget
The Michigan Council on Climate Solutions (CCS) will discuss Governor Gretchen Whitmer?s Fiscal Year 2023 supplemental budgets and FY 2024 budget at its Tuesday, Feb. 28, public meeting. The council also will hear a presentation from Evergreen Action about the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency?s Climate Pollution Reduction Grants program and Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund and will receive a presentation summarizing the MI Healthy Climate Plan 2022 Report.

The CCS advises the governor; the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE); and the Office of Climate and Energy in implementing the MI Healthy Climate Plan ? the governor?s action plan to protect public health, create clean energy jobs, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and transition toward statewide carbon neutrality. Fourteen state residents appointed by Gov. Whitmer and representatives of several state departments make up the council, with EGLE Acting Director Dan Eichinger as chair.
