Today marks the closing deadline for an unprecedented and baseless lawsuit that seeks to effectively impose a nationwide ban on mifepristone – the first drug in a two-pill regimen for medication abortion that accounts for more than half of abortion care – after more than 20 years of safe, effective use by millions of people in the country.

ACLU Supporter, what today's deadline means is that the judge in this case could at any time make a ruling. If he sides with the extremist anti-abortion group responsible for this lawsuit, it could severely damage access to medication abortion and miscarriage care across the country.
We at the ACLU won't let this happen without a fight. We've been doing everything in our power to increase access to medication abortion and other essential reproductive health care – including filing two cases in recent years aiming to expand access to mifepristone.
Restricting access to medication abortion only makes an already devastating public health crisis worse and is a blatant attempt to ultimately ban our right to abortion nationwide.
