Dear John,
One year ago, women and girls across Ukraine woke from their sleep to find their country blanketed with bombs and their lives changed forever. The war in Ukraine had begun. Will you help fund relief efforts by donating today?
We are UNFPA, the United Nations’ reproductive healthcare and rights agency. We have been on the ground in Ukraine for 25 years, but for the last year we’ve had to scale up our operations in response to the country’s war-time humanitarian needs.
- We are operating 20 mobile health units across Ukraine to reach women and girls in need of services like family planning counseling, prenatal care, and safe delivery services.
- We have delivered more than 100 metric tons of medical supplies – enough to meet the sexual and reproductive health needs of 7 million people.
- We are supporting 27 facilities, including shelters, crisis rooms, counseling centers, a national hotline and more than 100 mobile psychological support teams to provide survivors of violence with access to mental health counseling and access to safe spaces.
But there is no end in sight to this war, John. And no end in sight for the humanitarian need. As of today, there are 17.7 million people in need in Ukraine. There are 5.4 million folks who are displaced within the nation, and 8.07 million Ukrainian refugees across Europe.
That’s why, on this heartbreaking anniversary, we set an urgent goal to raise $25,000 before midnight tonight so we can continue our lifesaving work in Ukraine and beyond. Will you rush $35 right now to help us hit this goal?

While the suffering of war touches every single person in a conflict area, there is no doubt that women and girls in Ukraine have been severely impacted. 90% of those who have left the nation as refugees, and 60% of those displaced in the country are women and children.
Access to lifesaving sexual and reproductive health care and information has been severely disrupted. Violence is also pervasive, but cases continue to be under-reported. The stress of war has led more women to give birth prematurely or to experience miscarriage.
Thanks to your support, we’ve been able to stand with these women and girls. Always.
But with the war now entering a second year, the need is greater than ever. Unfortunately, our Ukraine programs and services are only 39% funded for 2023.
Before this grim anniversary ends at midnight tonight, will you make a donation to help us raise $25,000 and close that gap? Your gift is a lifeline for women and girls surviving the crisis in Ukraine and will provide sexual and reproductive health care wherever it is needed most.
