β€ŒJohn,

Today marks one year since Russian forces launched an unprovoked, all-out war against the independent, democratic country of Ukraine.

While Putin certainly thought he could easily take Ukraine – America and the coalition of freedom-supporting nations have stood together. One year later, we remain firm in our defense of democracy and liberty.

Since the onset of the conflict, President Biden unified the international community to impose sanctions on Russia and deliver substantial amounts of aid to Ukraine. In Congress, we have united in strong bipartisan support to pass critical bills to assist the Ukrainian people.

As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, I have directly worked with our partners worldwide and have meaningful discussions about the future. I will continue working to forge deeper bonds to elevate the security of our international community.

In the face of unspeakable tragedy and tremendous adversity, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian people have shown immense resilience. We must continue to honor and support their fight from the halls of our government.

Thank you,

Chris Coons
