Linking up City Centre Cycling Routes🚲
🚴‍♀️ Works continue at the Station Street/London Road junction on the latest phase of our City Centre Cycle routes, linking the east and west of the city with safe segregated cycling infrastructure.
Various, mainly off-peak lane closures will be required throughout the project as we complete the project to join the segregated cycleways nearby and install marked on road cycle lanes through the junction, improve pedestrian crossing facilities and more.Â

Giving up the car for Lent
Have you thought about giving up the car for local journeys?Â
Cycling UK are encouraging people to cycle or walk short distances (or use one of the escooters!) for Lent.Â
Cycling is fun, affordable and frees up road space for those who do need to drive. Here's why you should give it a go: http://ow.ly/eUSp50MYjuE
National transport group shown the benefits the UK’s only Workplace Parking Levy has brought to Nottingham
The UK’s leading sustainable transport campaign group, Campaign for Better Transport, has visited Nottingham as part of celebrations for fifty years of campaigning and to see for itself how the country’s only Workplace Parking Levy (WPL) has revolutionised how people travel around the city.
As Director for External Affairs, Norman Baker finally got a chance to experience Nottingham's tram network – which as Transport Secretary 2010-2013, he gave final approval to for an extension doubling its size.
And in the same week that Sheffield joined Bristol, Birmingham and Bath in charging drivers to enter the city centre, they heard about how the Workplace Parking Levy has played a part in constraining congestion growth by 47%, helping us to improve our air quality, lower our carbon emissions and avoid a Government-imposed Clean Air Zone.
ÂŁ2 single bus fare on all Nottingham buses - extended until June!Â
Don't forget to take advantage of the ÂŁ2 bus single fare cap! A woman has travelled from London to Edinburgh on ÂŁ2 buses - how far will you go?Â
Until the end of June, a single bus journey will cost no more than £2 on most routes across England, thanks to the government’s Help for Households campaign. All local bus operators in Nottingham are taking part in the scheme.
