A pregnant mum has revealed that her unborn baby “saved her life” after an ultrasound scan of her womb revealed early-stage cancer.
Megan McQuade from Teesside told BBC Radio Tees that everything was progressing well until she found some light bleeding when she was around six weeks pregnant.
When she visited her local hospital, the sonographer discovered a shadow on her bladder and advised her to have it investigated.
Megan said that she was so “overjoyed” at seeing her baby for the first time, she completely forgot about the shadow mentioned by the sonographer.
When she returned for her next check-up however she said the sonographer’s “tone completely changed” when she looked at the scan. Within a few weeks, Megan was diagnosed with early-stage cancer of the bladder.
The next decision she had to make was the kind of treatment she received and whether it would adversely impact on her unborn baby.
The operation she opted for did not interfere with the pregnancy and referring to the cancer the doctors told her that “everything has gone really well, we managed to get it all out” and that no further treatment was needed at this time.
Megan said: “I still get a bit tearful – it was the best possible news I could have had.”
Her baby is due in July. Let’s hope and pray both mother and baby thrive and that Megan continues to get the all clear and requires no further treatment.
Well known Massachusetts Democrat Michael Hugo has been roundly denounced after he argued at a city council meeting that abortion should be legal for unborn babies with disabilities — because otherwise, they’ll be a drain on the local school system.
Hugo, who is chairman of Framingham Democratic Committee, made his remarks when criticising pro-life pregnancy resource centres that provide advice and practical support to women during pregnancy and afterwards.Â
During the council meeting, Hugo made the following outrageous intervention: “Our fear is that if an unqualified sonographer misdiagnoses a heart defect, an organ defect, spina bifida, or an encephalopathic defect, that becomes a very local issue, because our school budget will have to absorb the cost of a child in special education, supplying lots and lots of special services to children, who were born with the defect. So it’s our hope that the Council tonight will pass this ordinance, and by doing so perhaps one of the businesses that might be looking at coming to Framingham, will look at Framingham and decide, well, we better just keep driving and look for a different town or a different city.”
After receiving strong pushback from all sides, Hugo later apologised for his remarks. While his comments at the council meeting were vile and shameful, it would be naive to just look upon them as the beliefs of one wrong-headed individual. The views he expressed are held by many if not most pro-abortion campaigners but they’re too clever and calculating to say it out loud what they really believe.
Over 2,500 people have signed the petition in the past weeks calling for the defunding of the National Women’s Council, the taxpayer funded body leading an aggressive push at present for late-term abortion on request to be legalised.
By signing the petition below, you will be adding your voice to the call to defund the NWCI and start over with something better in its place.
It’s disgraceful the way the NWCI claims to represent ALL women, while completely brushing aside the concerns of women who regret their abortions and the majority of women who want to see alternatives to abortion promoted.
The changes we want to see happen won’t occur overnight but that shouldn’t dissuade us from getting started. Together, we must shine a light on the unfairness of what’s happening in order to bring about change.
The DEFUND petition is off to a great start. Let’s spread the word and keep the momentum going!
When you’ve signed the petition, please share the link with family and friends and encourage them to be part of the effort as well. Thanks for all your help!Â
