Dear Free Software Supporter,

There's only three weeks left until [LibrePlanet 2023][1]. We cannot
do this event without our volunteers, who besides providing their
invaluable help behind the scenes, also contribute to the great
atmosphere. We'd like to extend a huge *thank you* to all the
volunteers who have already signed up to help us organize
LibrePlanet 2023. We are touched by how much support we've received so
far. However, it would be helpful to have more in-person volunteers
to fill some important roles.

You can help us by joining the on-site crew at the Boston Convention &
Exhibition Center and performing one of the following tasks:

* Moderate a room, introduce speakers, and facilitate question and
answer sessions after talks;

* Join the registration crew to greet fellow attendees while getting
to know speakers first hand;

* Help out with venue logistics (we are especially looking for early
birds but have some tasks during the day, too); or

* Sell baby gnus, T-shirts, and all the cool stuff the GNU Press shop
has to offer at the GNU press booth in our exhibition hall.

We will need your help on March 18 and 19 at the Boston Convention &
Exhibition Center. If you can lend a hand at any of these tasks,
please reply to this email, or write to <[email protected]>. Let us
know what you prefer to do, what days/times of LibrePlanet you will be
able to volunteer, and don't forget to mention your T-shirt size
(standard S-XXXXL), because we'll be providing each and every
volunteer with a *very* handsome [LibrePlanet 2023 shirt][2] in
addition to free admission to the entire conference *and* lunch --
**and** the community's deepest appreciation. By the way, the shirts
are manufactured by Bella Canvas, which is WRAP-certified, meaning
they comply with ethical, health, and safety standards in
manufacturing.

For in-person volunteers, it is helpful to attend one of the following
training and info sessions at the [Free Software Foundation office][3]
at 51 Franklin Street, Fifth Floor, Boston, MA 02110 (nearest train
stop is [Downtown Crossing][4]):

* Friday, March 3, 19:00 to 21:00 EST
* Tuesday, March 7, 19:00 to 21:00 EST
* Wednesday, March 15, 19:00 to 21:00 EDT

In your email, please let us know which training you can attend.
Note, whether or not you can make it to one of these, you can still
sign up! So, if you have any doubts about availability for a
training, please let us know so we can adapt to your schedule. Room
monitoring requires more training than other volunteer tasks, but
there are some important things we need all volunteers to know. The
training will also help you to connect with other volunteers before
the event. You may still volunteer without attending a training, but
your assigned role may be slightly less "glamorous" (but equally
important).

LibrePlanet 2023 will be the fifteenth edition of the conference that
brings free software enthusiasts together from around the globe, and
*you* can be an important part of this celebration. It is [promising
to be a terrific event][5]! *Thank you* for supporting the Free
Software Foundation and *thank you* for volunteering! It's people like
you who ensure that LibrePlanet stays stellar.

Are you ready to join the team? I look forward to working alongside
you,

Miriam Bastian
Program Manager
