Marjorie Taylor Greene’s latest tweet calling for a “national divorce” is not only awful, but a violation of her oath to our Constitution.

This kind of extremism genuinely threatens our democracy’s stability. Right now, Marjorie Taylor Greene and her fellow extremists have a stranglehold on Republicans in Congress, including at the very top with Kevin McCarthy. In the short term, we have to call out this kind of rhetoric but that’s not enough. We have to start planning right now how we can take back control of the House.

Taking back the House starts with protecting toss-up seats like mine. Please chip in now if you agree we cannot let MTG stay in power.

Let’s not forget that MTG’s words have real policy implications now that Republicans are in the majority. MTG is the newest member of the Homeland Security Committee! Thanks to a deal she made with Kevin McCarthy, she literally oversees our country’s national defense. Does anyone feel safer right now? I certainly don’t.

I’m also incredibly concerned about how fast these extremist talking points are spreading across the internet. A single tweet like this can be seen by millions and millions of people within a matter of minutes. It’s incredibly dangerous.

If we don’t stand up and fight back, these extreme views can take hold and lead to the kind of violence we saw on January 6th.
