More than 250,000 young adults are counting on us.

Friend,

Thanks to progressive legislation in California, more than a quarter of a million undocumented youth who were brought to the U.S. as children have access to health care and financial aid for college, helping them build lives in our state.(1)

But a Republican-appointed federal judge is about to render a decision that could end Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), disrupting these Dreamers’ lives.(2)

Congress can step in to stop the deportation of 600,000 Dreamers, and the Senate has introduced the DREAM Act of 2023 to provide them residential status that will allow them to continue to work and learn here. We’re calling on Congress to pass the DREAM Act as soon as possible.

Ever since Donald Trump was elected, DACA has been hanging by a thread.

Hateful red state governors have sued to end DACA, and legislation to make the policy permanent has been languishing in Congress.

Now a judge is about to render a decision that could end protections for these young adults -- who have been working, earning degrees, and making their way in a country that is the only home most of them have ever known. Deporting them would be disastrous.

The DREAM Act would protect their immigration status in the U.S. as long as they continue to work, go to college, or join the military and do not commit a crime.(3) More than 250,000 youth in California are counting on us -- will you stand up for them?
