These climate champions’ impact and legacy on the environmental movement are monumental and yet often under-recognized. From leading the government’s conservation efforts to getting arrested during protests over a community’s disproportionate exposure to toxic pollution to advocating for more urban green spaces, these leaders have put themselves on the frontlines of the fights to protect their communities and the environment.

Their vigilance and dedication inspire us every day at EnviroVoters Ed Fund, and we hope to continue their legacies by centering frontline communities in our climate justice work here in California.
