On the floor of the House of Delegates, Del. Kathy Byron said “Abortion is not healthcare. To believe that abortion is healthcare, you must believe that pregnancy is a disease”. This is today’s Virginia GOP. They’re a party that Virginia cannot afford to have in power.

A Republican trifecta is a possibility if Democrats don’t build another Blue Wave in 2023. That would be devastating for our Commonwealth and the people of Virginia. The Virginia GOP has already tried to ban abortion multiple times in this year’s General Assembly Session — and they would’ve succeeded if it weren’t for the Democrats in the Virginia Senate.

Delegate Byron isn’t an outlier in her party, folks, she just said the quiet part out loud. Electing Democrats this year, Democrats that will defend the right to choose, that believe that abortion care IS healthcare, and that will block the VA GOP and governor Youngkin’s attempts to strip our rights away, will be the most important thing we do this year. Will you chip in to support Democrats who will defend the right to choose?

The new districts that we’re running on are going to make it tough for us to win majorities in the House and Senate, but we MUST WIN THE MAJORITY. That is why I’m reaching out today — we can’t let people who don’t even believe that getting an abortion is healthcare be in a position to impose their beliefs on the people of Virginia.
