Folks,

On the 47th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we remember all the women who came before us and the dark days of back-alley abortions. We must never return to those days of shadows, shame, and silence.

But today in 2020, Republicans across the country are still trying to ban abortion and strip people of their right to control their own bodies.

States across the country are passing some of the most restrictive, dangerous, and unconstitutional bans that outlaw abortions before most women even know they’re pregnant. No exceptions for rape or incest. Life sentences for doctors who perform abortions.

And earlier this month, 200 Republican members of Congress wrote a letter urging the Supreme Court to take up Roe v. Wade again this year in an attempt to reverse the decision.

Make no mistake: this is a coordinated effort from anti-choice groups and right-wing politicians to overturn Roe v. Wade and outlaw abortion across our country. And if Republicans get their way, women will suffer.

As co-chair of the Pro-Choice Caucus, I’m fighting with everything I’ve got against the Republican war on women. If you’re with me, I need you to donate $10 right now to help us send these anti-choice politicians packing.

We cannot forget that low-income folks, people of color, and the LGBTQ community will suffer the most if Roe v. Wade is overturned. This is a threat to human rights and reproductive rights. We’ve come too far to turn back now.

Now more than ever, we must recommit ourselves to fighting for people’s right to a safe and legal abortion. Your donation helps us do just that.

In solidarity,

Barbara Lee
