It’s one week out from our 2020 Launch Parties, and 2,103 of you are signed up to host! Honestly, I’m amazed at that number. But as impressive as it is, it’s only a fraction of the number of people reading this email, and I know we can still go bigger.

Can you host a 2020 launch party? All you need to do it are a few friends, a space, and a screen. Sign up by Sunday and we’ll send you everything you need to get started.

If you’ve never hosted an event like this, if you’re new to Sunrise, or if you thought you might just take a step back on this one, please let me explain why these launch parties are so important--and why we really need you not just to attend a party, but specifically to host this time:

To get ready for 2020, we mapped out a yearlong plan to build a mass movement strong enough to elect a new wave of climate champions to all levels of government and launch the decade of the Green New Deal.

But in order to pull all that off, our movement needs to grow a LOT. We need Sunrise hubs and strike circles to spread into every school, every city, every neighborhood in the country.

So that’s where these launch parties come in: they’re about growing our movement, and bringing in thousands of new people who are brand new to Sunrise -- people who aren’t yet on this email list.

And the only way we can do that is if everyone reading this doesn’t just attend a launch party, but hosts their own and invites a few friends who aren’t part of Sunrise yet to join.
